Take your 143mm, Volvo S60R/V70R, S60/V70 T5, S40/V50, C30/C70 to extreme power levels with K1 Technologies forged connecting rods. Custom-machined from billet steel for superior strength and reliability at high horsepower.
Manufacturing Process
K1 Technologies uses a premium quality billet 4340 steel to manufacture all their connecting rods. Each rod is custom cast and core hardened for increased tensile strength. This process helps reduce fatigue. After the casting process each connecting rod is 100% mag particle inspected, the bearing surfaces are polished and nitride to help prevent excessive wear. During the honing process ARP 2000 bolts are installed and tightened to the exact specifications, this helps to ensure accurate and repeatable bore geometry. All connecting rods are honed-in house and held to some of the tightest tolerances in the industry, +/- .0001” and +/- 1 gram per end. Rods are then weight-matched into sets and boxed for shipment. Also included with each set of connecting rods K1 supplies the rotating, reciprocating and total weights noted on a build sheet. This added service is convenient when it comes to the balancing process.
