Description

The Bilstein B6 22-235336 is a front twintube strut assembly for the front-wheel-drive Volvo S70 and V70 1998–2000 and the Volvo C70 1998–2004, fitting the Base, GLT, T5, and 1998 R sedan and wagon trims and both HPT and LPT C70 coupes and convertibles across the 4-speed and 5-speed automatics and the 5-speed manual. It replaces the original front strut directly on the P80 chassis at factory ride height. AWD V70 and XC70 models use a different part.

Bilstein developed the B6 as a heavy-duty upgrade over the OE damper: firmer valving that reins in body roll and brake dive while keeping the ride civil enough for daily use. The gas-charged twintube construction resists fade, so the damping the S70 or C70 has on a cold morning is the damping it has after an hour on a twisting road or with a loaded wagon.

Most 1998 to 2004 P80 cars are now running on original or budget replacement struts, and the symptoms are familiar: floaty highway behavior, excess dive, and a vague front end on turn-in. The B6 restores tight, predictable control and is the right match for stock or mildly sportier springs on a V70 or C70 that still sees regular road duty.

Each 22-235336 is sold individually and fits either the left or right front position. Replace struts in pairs and order two for a complete front axle refresh. Installation uses the factory spring, top mount, and hardware. This part supersedes Bilstein F4-V36-4015-H0.
