Description
This 28mm steel piston is the leading-bore replacement for the factory 4-piston rear calipers on the Volvo S60R and V70R. Machined to the original diameter, it fits directly into the caliper with no modification during a rear brake rebuild.
A rear caliper that has been neglected tends to fail quietly: moisture and grit get behind a hardened seal or split boot, the piston corrodes, and the caliper stops releasing cleanly. The signs are a dragging rear wheel, tapered pad wear and reduced fuel economy. Swapping in new pistons with a reseal gets the rear brakes on your S60R or V70R sliding freely again and saves the expense of replacement calipers.
