This kit is designed for high-horsepower builds and for those who want the absolute best intake solution. The do88 turbo intake system delivers significantly better airflow than the OEM air box and intake pipe, verified using a SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench.
The aluminum intake pipe has an outer diameter of 70 mm (2 3/4") and is mandrel-bent to ensure optimal airflow. The pipe connects to the turbocharger inlet using a custom-designed 4-ply silicone hose that is steel wire reinforced to handle a wide pressure range while maintaining excellent airflow characteristics.
To ensure optimal function, fitment, and appearance, the system features CNC-machined brackets and a CNC-machined mass air flow sensor flange. The MAF flange is welded to a carefully selected pipe section with the correct airflow cross-section to maintain accurate sensor readings.
The included heat shield is designed to separate the air filter from hot air within the engine bay. A custom-designed shield plate with rubber seals provides superior protection from heat compared to other high-flow intake systems. The air filter is positioned to receive cold air from the factory intake path at the front grille.
For improved cold air supply, the original air guide can be replaced with a do88 air ducting hose (part number AD89), allowing airflow to be routed from a preferred location at the front of the vehicle.
The do88 turbo inlet pipe delivers an airflow of 653 CFM at 0.125 bar / 1.81 psi pressure drop, compared to the OEM intake system which flows 452 CFM.
The OEM intake system is designed for factory power levels. Increased power demands can restrict airflow, making it harder for the turbocharger to draw sufficient air. This reduces engine efficiency and power output. Even on software-tuned engines, the do88 intake system provides a measurable performance improvement over the stock air box and intake pipe.
