    DESCRIPTION

Upgrade charge-air cooling with the do88 Performance Intercooler. ICM-360-SD fits Porsche 911 Carrera (992).

A true performance upgrade for the 911 Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera GTS, and Dakar.

The world’s first complete 992.1 intercooler package – our most complex product ever.

If you ask us, this is as far as an intercooler kit can be pushed for this platform. No aspect of the system has been left untouched in the pursuit of maximum performance. At the core of the system are motorsport-grade intercooler cores from Garrett, manufactured to our exact specifications with thin, stacked fins to balance cooling efficiency and airflow.

The end tanks are made from thin, cast aluminum to minimize weight while optimizing airflow. To accommodate the thicker cores, the factory air guides are replaced with custom carbon fiber ducts manufactured from premium materials. To eliminate bottlenecks throughout the system, the intercooler connections are enlarged and paired with do88 silicone hoses featuring smooth, sweeping bends. No compromises were made during development.

    Key figures:
    - Lower inlet air temperature under identical conditions: 30 °C (86 °F) vs 39 °C (102.2 °F), 9 °C (16.2 °F) lower
    - Improved airflow with reduced backpressure
    - Airflow at 0.175 bar (2.54 psi) pressure drop: 919 CFM (OEM: 820 CFM), 12% higher
    - High-density motorsport-grade bar-and-plate cores from Garrett Motorsport
    - 3D freeform-designed cast end tanks
    - Custom-designed carbon fiber ambient air guides
    - High-quality silicone hoses and installation accessories included
    - Methanol injection bungs on intercooler outlet tank (2 × 1/8" NPT)

    Background:
With the introduction of the 992 generation, Porsche transitioned entirely to turbocharged engines for the 911 lineup. This made the platform especially interesting for high-performance applications. Unlike previous generations, the intercooler and Y-pipe are integrated into a single unit mounted beneath the rear wing, with ambient air directed from the rear window through the decklid scoop and across the intercooler core.

The active rear wing plays a crucial role by increasing airflow through the intercooler in its raised position. To enable a thicker, higher-capacity core, do88 developed entirely new carbon fiber air ducts. The result is a system with fitment and finish worthy of the 911 name.

    Cores from Garrett Motorsport:
The bar-and-plate cores are manufactured by Garrett Motorsport and represent the highest level of quality available. Thin, stacked cooling fins provide dense construction and excellent heat transfer. Each core measures 105 mm (4") in thickness, the maximum possible for this application.

Freeform-designed cast end tanks distribute airflow evenly across the entire core. Development included extensive 3D scanning, CFD analysis, and rapid prototyping. Cast aluminum was selected to allow complex shapes that maximize airflow. The end tanks feature machined 70 mm (2.75") connections and are paired with high-quality silicone hoses. Both cores are connected via a central outlet tank with integrated methanol injection ports.

    Carbon fiber ambient air guides:
The air guides are manufactured from vacuum-infused prepreg carbon fiber and include fastening grooves matching OE components. Fitment is precise despite the complex shapes. The upper air guides are identical for all models, while the lower guides are available for either Standard or SportDesign rear bumpers.

From a performance perspective, the SportDesign configuration offers improved evacuation of cooling air via a central outlet in the bumper. Carbon ducts are available for both versions and include rubber seals to prevent air from bypassing the intercooler core.

    Performance testing:
Performance data was collected using an AIM race logger during five consecutive full-throttle acceleration runs (50–250 km/h / 30–155 mph) on a closed airstrip with no cooldown between runs. Testing was performed on a Porsche 911 Carrera S (450 hp) with the rear wing in the raised position.

After baseline testing with OE intercoolers, the do88 system was installed and the test repeated under identical conditions. Peak inlet air temperature reduction measured 9 °C (16.2 °F). Airflow was also verified on a SuperFlow SF-1020 Probench, confirming improved heat transfer and airflow over the OE units.
