The intercooler is a highly visible component in the engine bay, yet many aftermarket alternatives compromise the car’s aesthetics with bulky, box-shaped sheet metal tanks that detract from its original elegance.
The do88 Solution
When developing this intercooler for the Porsche 930 Turbo, do88 set out to retain the classic 1980s appearance while delivering a substantial improvement in performance. The result is an intercooler that offers superior cooling efficiency and reduced pressure drop compared to both the OEM unit and most aftermarket alternatives.
The intercooler features a motorsport-grade Bar & Plate core with a 90 mm thickness. Its densely packed cooling fins ensure excellent heat transfer while minimizing pressure drop.
To support both T26 (OE) and T27 (upgrade) turbochargers, the kit includes two silicone hoses that replace the original aluminum charge pipe between the turbocharger and the intercooler inlet.
The factory diverter valve system on the 930 Turbo is large, heavy, and slow to react, often leading to drivability issues and sluggish throttle response. The do88 Long-Neck intercooler eliminates this OE system entirely. By connecting the intercooler outlet directly to the throttle body—a design also used on the 930S and 964 Turbo—response and reliability are significantly improved. The OE valve is replaced with a modern GFB diverter valve included in the kit.
The intercooler is also designed to work seamlessly with the original deck-lid-mounted AC condenser, ensuring that air conditioning functionality is retained.
This kit is ideal for both standard and high-power builds and is engineered to be installed without permanently modifying the vehicle. All necessary brackets, hardware, hoses, and fasteners are included.
Installation
The do88 intercooler is designed as a direct-fit solution for all Porsche 930 3.3 Turbo models. Due to the hand-built nature of these vehicles, minor adjustments may occasionally be required to achieve perfect alignment. These adjustments are minimal and do not compromise the car’s originality, appearance, or reversibility.
