The do88 performance intercooler features an all-aluminum construction with CAD-designed, flow-optimized cast end tanks and an optimized core design to deliver maximum cooling efficiency with minimal pressure drop.
The OEM intercooler is designed for factory power levels. Increased boost pressure or hard driving can quickly exceed its capabilities. After an engine software tune, the do88 intercooler delivers a clear performance improvement. In addition, the OEM intercooler uses plastic end tanks that may fail at higher boost levels; the do88 intercooler significantly improves reliability.
The do88 intercooler uses 2.5" (63 mm) hose connections instead of the OEM 2.25" (57 mm). Larger connections provide improved airflow, so two silicone hoses are included to replace the factory inlet and outlet hoses.
A common misconception is that this intercooler position limits performance compared to a front-mounted intercooler (FMIC). In reality, the do88 intercooler outperforms many FMIC setups, which often use smaller cores and are partially blocked by the bumper beam, reducing cooling efficiency.
The do88 intercooler includes all necessary installation hardware and brackets for the radiator, AC condenser, and air guides. Installation instructions based on the Saab 9-3 are included as guidance.
