    Upgrade your engine with the do88 charge pipe kit for B58 Gen 2 found in BMW M340i and more!

    The B58 Gen 2 engine is fantastic but has a known reliability issue: its charge pipe. This pipe is fragile and can fail even on stock cars during track sessions. If you plan to tune your engine, upgrading the charge pipe beforehand is highly recommended.

    Most aftermarket B58 charge pipe kits use a simple design: two pipes joined by a straight reducing silicone hose. These do not account for thermal movement and often lead to the hose popping off. Over-tightening clamps usually damages the pipes.

    At do88, we designed a flexible connection between the pipes to handle thermal expansion and contraction. Our solution uses an aramid-reinforced silicone hose with 3 humps, allowing movement in any direction without stressing the connections. The pipes have CNC-machined 6063 hose ends with 3mm wall thickness, preventing deformation even under overtightened clamps.

    The pipes also improve performance. The lower pipe measures 60mm (2 3/8”;) and the upper pipe 76mm (3”;) with smooth mandrel bends to reduce pressure drop and turbulence. The upper pipe connects to the throttle body via a CNC-machined flange and includes two 1/8 NPT ports for methanol injection or boost pressure sensors. Two 1/8 NPT plugs are included for unused ports.

    Important Notice: The space between the throttle body and the slam panel is limited on the G-chassis platform. In some cases, minor grinding of the slam panel edge may be required to fit the do88 charge pipe.

    Kit Contents:

    • CNC-machined (2x) 1/8 NPT ports for methanol injection or boost pressure sensors.
    • Two 1/8 NPT plugs included for unused ports.
    • Mandrel-bent 60mm (2 3/8”;) and 76mm (3”;) charge pipes with black powder coat finish.
