Upgrade the braking performance of your Ford Mustang FR500S S197 with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A1-112.
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc—no modifications are necessary. The disc bolts directly to the car and works perfectly with OE calipers. Upgrading to lightweight, high-performance rotors maintains your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency while reducing rotational and unsprung weight for quicker acceleration and improved suspension response.
The central hat is made from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum, and the disc is made from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured and machined in-house in the USA. The rotor features a curved vane design, developed in racing to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat have a floating mount system with 8 or 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured in the USA and cadmium-plated for corrosion resistance. The pins handle braking loads while maintaining axial and radial float, secured with grade 12 cap screws and hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers prevent rattling while allowing thermal expansion. This system also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.
Once installed, simply replace the cast iron rotor as needed.
