Upgrade the braking performance of your Porsche 911 Carrera S/4S/GTS 991.1 350mm with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A1-122.
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc, with the addition of provided caliper spacers. The rotor is slightly larger than the OEM at 350mm versus 340mm, providing greater braking force and cooling capacity. The Girodisc front rotors weigh approx. 21.0 lbs vs. 24.4 lbs for the stock units. This reduction in rotational and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration and improved suspension response.
The central hat section is made from strictly U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured and machined in-house in the USA. The rotor uses a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump, forcing cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system with 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured in the USA to Girodisc’s specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins handle braking loads while maintaining axial and radial float. They are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers allow thermal expansion while eliminating rattle, and the float also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is installed, simply replace the cast iron rotor as needed.
