Upgrade the braking performance of your Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A1-133.
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement iron rotor conversion for the OEM CCM disc. A different brake pad with an annulus (pad swept area) of 66mm or less must be used to keep the rotor weight reasonable. If the rotor were made with the same annulus as the OEM CCM rotors, it would be unnecessarily heavy.
The required pad shape is common and also found on the Nissan GT-R, Cadillac CTS-V, and most AMG Mercedes equipped with 6-piston calipers. For specific pad compounds, please contact us directly to provide the correct part numbers.
The central hat section of the rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined in-house from start to finish. The rotor uses a curved vane design, developed in racing, to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat have a floating mount system that utilizes 12 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their specifications and cadmium-plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. To prevent noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers, allowing the rotor to expand with heat while eliminating rattle. This float also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
