Upgrade the braking performance of your Porsche 911 Carrera 997.2 with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A1-153.
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc, including our provided caliper spacers. The rotor is slightly larger than the OEM at 350mm versus 330mm, providing greater braking force and improved cooling capacity.
The central hat section of the rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined in-house from start to finish. The rotor uses a curved vane design, developed in racing, to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system with 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA and cadmium-plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers are used to prevent rattling when cold while allowing thermal expansion. This floating system also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
