    DESCRIPTION

Upgrade the braking performance of your Porsche 911 Carrera 991.2 w/PCCB Iron Rotor Pad Shape with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A1-156.

The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc; however, you must use the same pad shape as used on the 991/992 GT3 or Turbo with factory iron rotors. The annulus (pad swept height) of these pads is smaller than the large PCCB pads to keep rotor weight reasonable and allow for better pad selection. Rotors with the same annulus as OEM PCCB rotors would be unnecessarily heavy.

The central hat section of the rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined in-house from start to finish. The rotor uses a curved vane design, developed in racing, to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system with 12 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA and cadmium-plated for corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers prevent rattling when cold while allowing thermal expansion. This system also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.

Once the Girodisc system is installed, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
