DESCRIPTION
Upgrade the braking performance of your 12-19 Ford Focus RS Mk III with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A1-169.
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc. No modifications are necessary. The disc bolts directly to the car and works perfectly with OE calipers. By upgrading to lightweight high-performance replacements instead of a big brake kit, your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency are maintained. The Girodisc front rotors weigh approximately 18.0 lbs versus 23.1 lbs for the stock units, reducing rotational and unsprung weight for quicker acceleration and improved suspension response.
The central hat section is made from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined entirely in-house at Girodisc. The rotor uses 48 curved directional vanes, developed in racing, to act as a centrifugal pump that forces cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system utilizing 8 or 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured in the USA and cadmium-plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins handle braking loads while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and disc. Pins are secured with grade 12 cap screws and hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side allow thermal expansion while eliminating rattle, and the float also enables the rotor to self-center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is installed, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
