DESCRIPTION
Upgrade the braking performance of your Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 997 with Girodisc 2-piece Brake Rotors A2-126.
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc on all 997.2 GT3/GT2 models, with or without OEM PCCB rotors. No modifications are necessary, and the system allows the use of factory unmodified pads—unlike most aftermarket solutions for this application. The disc bolts directly to the car and works perfectly with OE calipers. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight, high-performance replacements instead of a big brake kit, your factory bias is preserved as well as your ABS efficiency.
The central hat section of our rotor is made from strictly U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is produced from our proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in-house at Girodisc. The rotor incorporates a curved vane design, developed in racing, to act as a centrifugal pump and force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat are connected with a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins transfer the braking load while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. To eliminate noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side. This design allows for thermal expansion without rattle, while ensuring the rotor self-centers between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
